My Perfect Nude Lip Color!

As a girl who loves make up, we're all looking for our perfect nude lip color right? No matter how much you love red, vampy or fancy lip color, nude is a need. It works for any lazy days and all.

So stu*id of me, i own all these products for year and don't even realize how good they're together.

Enough for intro, and here i announce them :

Maybelline Baby Lips
MAC Lip Pencil shade Boldly Bare (full review here, originally from MAC Rebecca Mosses Illustrated Nude Lip Kit)
Benefit Ultra Plush Lip Gloss shade Dallas (featured on my post : for the love of Dusty Rose

I have such a dry lips so i need to add lip balm here, even if it doesn't contributing in color/shade. It is completely clear. And any other lip balm will do, it's just the one i currently use.

The picture has show you how close they're in spectrum. No wonder they could work superb together!

I was tried to make a step by step but found out that the pictures are too blur to use. Sorry. Please refer to original review of MAC Rebecca Mosses (link above) to see it closely.

All i do is :
Put lip balm on
After it's half dry, use lip pencil all over lip.
Add the lip gloss
DONE!

Here's how it looks on my lips :

What do you think?
Not too orange, not too brown, and not too pink.
Goal reached.
(if it just one product rather than 3.. Oh well..)
This combination last about 2 hours with few sip of drink and 3 hours without drinking or eating.

And here's how it look on my face :

Okay, i'm cheating here. I use Samsung's beauty face feature to hide my large pores. The colors still kinda accurate though. Hopefully it gives you better idea about my new favorites ^^~

Thank you for reading me babbling around!

The Revolution is Here! UD Revolution Lipstick is STREAKin in!

Besides than their Naked line, Urban Decay also well known for their Revolution lipstick. This is the new revolutionary version of their old weapon-shaped lipstick (i have one in Lovechild, reviewed here). Guess that new era is on?

This Revolution Lipstick is something that we should appreciate. In my own opinion, they're about the same level with Burberry Lip Velvet (my review for the one in Antique Rose is here). I mean, they both have pretty elegant packaging that screams luxury, pigmented, buildable and non drying formula. The difference are in price tag & scent. No offense here, i love the scent in Burberry's lip velvet. On the other hand, UD also win in staying power.

Well since it's not a comparison post, i will continue to talk about UD's.

This babe is retailed for $22 in USA (about $236/oz). I have no idea how much does it cost in SouthEast Asia.

This pretty pwetty packaging doesn't need to be touch to know that it's definately a luxury. It's kinda weight, but acceptable.

According to UD, Streak is a coral pink shade. Yes, it's pinker than "standard" coral shade.
This lipstick version doesn't as bright as the lip pencil.

I really loves the UD embossed in the cap. Very pretty.

The shade in bullet is softer than the one in the box.

It seems really pink on my arm swatch. It really is.
The color is buildable & it also will be brighter.

No lip swatch for today since my camera won't pink the right color.. Or maybe it's just my lips that being paler.

Simply said, i love it.
The amazing formula (it's NOT drying at all!) in such a pretty packaging.
Score!

ps. Which one do you think is better for a yellow toned, asian girl in her twenty-something? Naked? Naked2? Manic? Fiend? or maybe Strip?
ps2. i don't really like bright shade.

Thankyou! :)

Burberry Lip Velvet no. 303 Antique Rose

*Purchased by Me*

I am not a biggest fan of lipstick, most of them are drying and none of them last long on me. This Burberry Lip Velvet is a whole new experience, in short, very worthy.

Mine is in mini (sample) size.
It just contains of 0.8g or 0.028 oz of product while the full size product retailed for $30 for 0.12oz.

Lip Velvet formula supposed to be hydrating, long wearing and pigmented.

I have to admit that here, my camera won't pick the real color. In reality, it's browner and a little bit red-er.

But look at the metal tube! OMG it screams elegance and luxury. And the Burberry checked pattern on product? Totally adore it!

To make it complete, Burberry packed it with sweet fruity scent that makes me always think of lip balm. True, the formula is light weight and hydrating, like a lip balm.

At least here, the color is very close to reality.
Antique Rose is pinky brown with hints of beige. The finish is natural (satin?).

There's something wrong again.. It supposed to be browner and darker. However, you can see how it turns on Christine, it seems more close to reality.

For me, who loves natural lipstick shades, Antique Rose is perfect.
It's fool-proof, easy to glide on, doesn't need to reapply as much as another lipstick, hydrating and lightweight!
However the hight price tag turn me down.
Maybe i'll repurchase it someday :)

ps. i don't know why i can't get good lightning these days. Most picture wont show the real color, makes my kinda frustate and won't to post it T______________T

MAC Rebecca Moses Illustrated Nude Lip Bag, Review & Swatches.

Okay, I feel so envy with you girls who are strong enough to write a post about 2 or more lip products (or anything you feel need to apply on your complexion, taking pictures of yourself & the products, editing, and posting).
I think I’ve spent 6 hours (4 different days, 1 hours or slightly more each day) to finish my post. I should say that I’m satisfied enough, but I might update this post in future, to make it better.

I’ve posted about my august haul in this post, where this Rebecca Moses’s Illustrated Nude Lip Bag is included. Sometimes, in the middle of year, MAC will make an illustrated collection, collaborated with fashion designer (for 2013, it’s Rebecca Moses) which usually contains of kits, palettes and brush sets.  I was on Temptalia, reading her review & swatch about Nude Lip Bag and realize that this kit is amazing. I mean, 3 products (4 if you count the bag) for $ 39.5. The amazingness wasn’t stop there, for me, this kit contains of products that great to use together as they’re alone.

MAC Rebecca Moses Illustrated Nude Lip Bag are contains of :
1 make up pouch
1 MAC lip pencil in Boldly Bare
1 MAC cremesheen lipstick in Naked Proof
1 MAC lipglass in Drawn to Chic

The bag is made from something vinyl-like. It’s waterproof but not dirty proof. It’s designed with lip and ribbon illustration in outside, and black with white ribbon inside. This is my make up pouch to go since arrived.

Inside, there's MAC logo and Rebecca Moses' sign on clear divider. I've put a white paper behind to help you get what i mean :)

None of them come in special packaging but as long as i know, all of them are Limited Edition.
I think all of them are easily dupeable, but again, i think they're good for the price. And it's MAC.

Boldly Bare (lip pencil) is described as reddish brown, with matte finish. It has good color payoff, and kinda easy to apply.
I only have 1 lip pencil from Nyx before, and this one from MAC is a lot way better. I love how it stand on my lips passing full course meal and plenty of water. I applied a lip butter underneath to make it somehow shinier, not as matte as it supposed to be if I wear it alone.
Actually, I haven’t tried it as a base for another lipstick than Naked Proof, which basically has similar color with BB. With Naked Proof, it could help Naked Proof stay longer and more flattering since Naked Proof looks paler on me when used alone than with BB as base.

Naked Proof (crèmesheen lipstick) is a neutral cream beige. It has good color payoff (1 swipe to show a hint of color and 2 swipes to make a full coverage) and it last about 2 hours on me when used alone, and 3-4 hours with BB as base.
I put a high expectation to NP since it really looks so pretty and seems like my kin of MLBB shade. It’s not really disappointing, it’s not washed me out everytime I use it, only sometimes when I’m getting paler, but I always could help it with Drawn to Chic lipglass.
I found that MAC crèmesheen formula isn’t as drying as their Retro Matte (I have Ronnie Red to compare it with) on me.

Drawn to Chic (lip glass) is a bright warm pink that sometimes makes me think about pinker and glossier version of Betty Bright. It doesn’t contains of shimmer, so it’s easy to make a naturally pink and healthy lips look. It’s opaque and thick. Sometimes I found it hard to blend with it’s own brush (doe-foot shape).
Because of it’s thickness, it could last longer on lips. I also found it not drying, slightly hydrating.

Going into Swatch .. i'm kinda satisfied with my pictures, but if you don't, please let me know ^^

hand swatch, no base, natural lighting, no flash

[2] lip + lip balm + boldy bare lip pencil
[3]   lip + lip balm + boldy bare lip pencil + naked proof lipstick
[4] lip + lip balm + boldy bare lip pencil + naked proof lipstick + drawn to chic lip glass

I'm really sorry that i can't picture lip swatch of each product for now. Maybe for future-update? :)

In the end of post, i'd tell you again that i'm happy with my purchase. Each product are fulfilling my expectation and i love to wear 'em, especially lip liner and lip glass!
