Finally, I Reviewed Urban Decay Naked 2!

Shame of me.. A while a go, i was trying to clean my blogging folder and i found out that i haven't write a review for my Urban Decay Naked 2 which i bought in Sephora KLCC back in 2012.

After a short thought, i remember my reason for not reviewing this palette even i've finished the editing process long long time ago : i freaked out that maybe someone would use my pictures to make a better fake palette. Okay maybe it's not such a reason because there's so many pictures around the internet, and the still haven't make a really good fake product. Since then, i always trying not to put any important information in my blog.

Enough for the introduction, so here i present you the Urban Decay Naked 2 (picture was taken when it's still brand new) :

 The case is made from metal tin, but in my opinion, it's too thin.

Also even it's supposed to be safetier to travel with than original Naked palette, one shade named Blackout is somehow being so fragile.

I heard many people complained about this so i bring my palette home in my own handbag, not in baggage like it's other partners. As you could see in next picture, it's arrived home safely :)

Naked 2 come with dual side brushfor shadow & crease.

My palette also come with lip gloss in shade Naked, but since i'm not using it, i wouldn't review it here.

The new one (after Naked 3's launched) come with eye primer samples and packaged with cardboard box instead of transparant one in before.

If you're wondering why-oh-why my new palette got some stratch inside, here's the story:

Naked 2 has a full size mirror inside. It's a nice add but it has some weight that's enough to makes the palette fallen to back if you took the brush out.

I have a good mirror for make up in my room, so that day when i am wearing my naked 2 with it's own brush, the palette fell to back side. Ugh, and i accidentally put it dangerously near the edge of my table. I was shocked (a new palette and it's expensive!!!) and quickly grab it, anywhere i could. I got it, with some stratch as payment. Cheap eh?

Leason learned : take care of your palette. Put it in safe place, it could be fallen it self.

Swatch on my arm, yellowish sun shine.

Well, you could find the shade explanation anywhere but here's my version of it :

Foxy is yellowish beige with matte finish. It's so sheer and hadly shown on my skin. I use it as a base color.

Half Baked is a golden shade with shimmery finish. I like it but i wish it's more on brown than yellow side.

Booty Call is a highlight shade with frosted finish. Good for under brow bone.

Chopper is choppery red tone brown with (almost) glittery finish. It's a pretty shade, even for daily use.. if it's not that bling bling.

Tease is a muddy taupe shade, with matte finish. It's my favorite shade for crease.

Snakebite is dark brown with yellow shimmer. Pretty shade.. And i like it more than it's close sibling, Dark Horse (reviewed here).

Suspect is a soft bronze shade with shimmery finish. It's also being my favorite for lazy days. Suspect is really good to wear alone. I also heard it's a close sister of the famous Burberry Pale Barley (which i haven't tried).

 Pistol is dark gray brown with frosted finish. It's a pretty shade but leans too cool for my asian skin.

Verve is a pale, shimmery beige. Good for inner corner.

YDK is a warm choppery brown with frosted finish and some glitter. The shade it self is pretty but too glittery for my taste (why Urban Decay??)

Busted is plummy brown with frosted finish. Good for layering eye liner or outer shade.

Blackout is a matte, black shade. Also good for layering eye liner. As i said above, it's the most fragile shade in palette.

I like my Naked 2 but now it's rarely use since i am not a fans of cool eye shadow shade as before. Still, Suspect is foolproof and my life safer. I bought it in 2012 and i haven't hit pan in any shade.

I bought it while it's still $50 on their web, now it's $54 already.

I am wondering if i would take Naked 3 too since it has some pretty shade i adore (say Strange, Limit, Trick, Nooner, Liar, Factory and Mugshot - 7 out of 12!).

I wonder if it would good for my yellow toned skin?

any advice?

Swatched : Too Faced Romatic Eye Palette

Today, unlike usual, i'd post something old. It's still available in market, but i've sold mine so i don't think i will write about product review here since i don't think it's still reliable :p

Here you are.. Super pretty packaging, very feminine, handy & travel friendly, complete with how-to-look card and the shadows inside seems so pretty in pan!

I'm intrigued, what is romantic eye?

According to Jarred Blandino, it's a palette to enchance your inner bride, bombshell or classic beauty, all with an ultra feminine touch.

Jarred Blandino is Too Faced's founder. And he loves to put the reason why a palette was created behind the product it self.

The eye shadows inside are divided into 3 section as usual : day, classic and fashion look. Each section has 1 big pan and 2 smaller pans.

Palette's size is the same with another cardboard palette from Too Faced.

Both swatches are did in the same order :

1st row : soulmates, i do, un-veil

2nd row : kiss the bride, cut the cake, first dance

3rd row : bouquet toss, honey moon, ever after

(in my opinion, the shades name are getting more romatic from section to section :D)

I wouldn't write shades description here, since i don't really remember how they look like. but my faves are i do, honeymoon and ever after :)

As pictured said, some eye shadows are crazily pigmented, soft and buttery. But some elses are chalky, dry and powdery.

I love Too Faced's product design (especially this one) but it's not my favorite and i do think i have to many eye shadow so i let this one go.

The Balm Jovi Rockstar Palette, Review & Swatch

June and July means Holiday. Some blogger that i followed has wrote about "travel essential", "make up for holiday", "how to pack make up for holiday" and so on. I have no plan for this holiday, because my bro will be graduated next month and my parents are going there to attend the ceremony. I'm the one who left home -___________-"

But it doesn't stop me to provide a make up for travelling information for you. Yes, we're talking about a very versatile palette for travelling :D

The Balm is the rising star in Make Up Land right now. They have lots of good quality product with a good price. I especially loving their instain powder blush! This Rockstar Palette is ROCK too!

I thought the design is weird : a guitar with red lippie and crazy hair. No, i dont think i'd get this palette by the design. I browse about it just for curiosity, and suddenly i fell in love with "Lead Zeppelin" (though it's not like i was thought). Long story short, i got it.

It's not as big as i think it is. It's only 17 x 11 x 0.5 cm, very travel friendly.

The packaging is made from cardboard (so The Balm) but it's sturdy and firm.

In behind, there's the insider and ingredients list.

Their eye shadow has talc, unlike their blush and highlighter.

The Balm Jovi Rockstar Palette has 12 eye shadow, 1 highlighter, 1 blush and 2 lip/cheek cream.

No need to worry, because they've separate the powder and cream part.

As it has a rockstar theme, the product inside are named with rockstar thing. I dont think it's everyones cup of tea, but you can always forget about the name thing-y.

I found that magnet closure for cream product is stronger than the one for powder form. Makes it even safetier for travelling.

Now into the Swatch ..

Part 1 : Eye Shadows

There are three section for eye shadows : heavy metal, classic and alternative. They made a lovely combination of finish : metallics, matte and any other finish in between. They're not very neutral nor colorful but seems like it has all colors that you'll love, or at least, you'll find something to adore.

I experienced, without primer, these eye shadow could stay for 10 hours. It's faded a little yes, but still amazing. I'm sure you can left your primer home if you bring this palette for travelling ^^

First - Heavy Metal

Metal-ica : silvery-white with metallic finish. It's soft and has a good pigmentation.

Iron Maid-in : yellow based gold with metallic finish. It's also soft and good pigmentation thought it's not as opaque as metal-ica but it's definately more opaque than the balm Snobby.

Lead Zeppelin : dirty black based green with gold shimmer and metallic finish. It's kind of duo chrome. Though it's smooth in texture, and seems like opaque when i swatch it on my arm, it's seems so bad on my eyes. It's not as dense as picture above, and very powdery.

Alice Copper : wine red with brown undertone and has metallic finish. It's definately my favorite among these four. Very rich in pigmentation, soft and no fall out.

Second - Classic

Adagio : a matte, pale neutral beige. It's smooth and not powdery. For me, it's work as base shade.

Allegro : a matte, medium warm brown. It's my favorite of the bunch, the most used color. It helps me to blend and make a nice crease shade because it's so smooth and not powdery at all.

Moderato : a matte, purple burgundy. Unlike two shades before, it's a little bit in dry side and has lower pigmentation.

Presto : a matte, warm dark brown with purple undertone. It's also dry and has lower pigmentation.

When i'm in hurry, i mixed presto and moderato to make an eye brow powder. Not the best one, but it's kinda works.

Third - Alternative

Blink 1982 :  muted pale burgundy with golden shimmer. It's not really opaque and somewhat dry.

The Stroke : dark navy blue with satin finish. It's the second worst shade (after lead zeppelin) because it's dry and low in pigmentation though it's buildable.

Rem : medium purple with golden sheen. It's kinda duo chrome and very pretty. As another plus, it's soft and has a good pigmentation.

Third eye blinded : warm soft peach with frosty finish. It's soft and easy to blend though it's hard to get it shown on me.

Part 2 : Cheeks

Only 2 pans in this part, a blush and a highlighter. If you're a The Balm fanatics, then you'll be very familiar with these two. They're basically a Frat boy blush and Mary Lou highlighter, with some different texture. I dont have any of them so i can't compare in person.

Dont You Want Me? : a matte, warm peachy coral pink. It's pack a good pigmentation and super smooth. I like the color but seems like it's very easy to gone with a soft finger swipe.

Solid Gold : a pale warm gold with shimmery finish. This color wont shown on my face, but it made a lovely highlight with light swipe. As plus, it's not easily gone like it's sister.

Part 3 : Lip / Cheek

What lip shade do you need on travelling? Red? Nude? Anything else?

Both of them are not drying my lips, and doesn't emphasize dry part.

Milly : pale pink with neutral undertone.It's made and quite opaque. I can't make it shown on my lips with finger swipe, but lip brush would do this job for me. It's not my lips but better shade, it's a my muted lip shade. It's stay for 2-3 hours and not easily transfer to anything.

Vanilly : bright red with almost matte finish. It's silky and packed with good color pay off. I can swipe it with my finger to get a fresh look and build the color with lip brush to make it more opaque. It's stay for 3-4 hours on me.

Overall, it's a very versatile palette, in good price. It's very recommended for day and night use. It's retailed for $39.5 in the Balm site (and in my blog sale if you're interested) but it's limited edition so get your hand quickly if you want to.

Another story to share with you is.. I used to in love with Nars heart New York set ($75, including palette, lip gloss and nail polish) but when i read in temptalia, i found that most of the eye shadow, blush and highlighter's dupe is also available in my rockstar palette! crazy! I wouldn't get it, and will loving my rockstar palette more ^______________^

The Balm Nude 'Tude Eye Shadow Palette

Hello again!

The Balm is so booming these days, since they finally have a counter in Indonesia. Still in Jakarta though, but at least they're here. My favorite from The Balm is their eye shadow, no offense but i don't think their blush work on me..

i wish their blush will work on me someday!

The Balm Nude 'Tude available on their website for usd 36 (i don't know how much does it cost in their counter in Jakarta), contains of 12 neutral (nude) eye shadows and dual ended eye brush. Cute things, The Balm has 2 type of packaging for Nude 'Tude. Feeling Nice has a room design while Feeling Naughty has naughty girls. They both have the same eye shadow though. Mine is feeling naughty, so i got 6 nudey girls inside..

One side of Nude 'Tude's brush is eyeliner brush.

I've tried to swatch using that brush and above is the result.

Shades

Sassy - frosted white, good pigmentation and smooth in texture.

Snobby - shimmery soft gold with leans to yellow, less pigmented, soft in texture.

Stubborn - light medium peach with frosted finish, seems pinker in pan than it really is.

Stand Offish - very soft pink with soft golden shimmer. It's not really opaque but has soft texture.

Selfish - frosted taupe, good opaqueness and is one of my favorite shades in Nude 'Tude.

Sultry - matte warm medium brown. Good color payoff, smooth and is my another favorite.

Sophisticated - shimmery dark brown with subtle warm undertone, like another shades in Nude 'Tude, has noticeable gold shimmer.

Seductive - warm soft brown with soft pearly finish. If you're a neutral lover, it would attract you so much.

Sexy - matte, red-brown shade. Looks red-er in pan than it really does.

Silly - red-brown shade with gold shimmer. Has better pigmentation than "Sexy".

Serious - matte black, not really opaque but buildable.

Sleek - matte dark brown leans to black, more intense than serious.

Overall : Love

The packaging is simple but safe, and it does have a full size mirror. Very helpful. Wide color range also lovely, you can create so many looks with the shades.

Caring Colors Luxurious Perfecting Eye Shadow in Pink Wave

My second post in 2013 .. still about indonesian beauty product, yay!

.. another eye shadow palette, yes. I used to be decline to review the same type of product in a row, but this palette is different story. It was my Mom's. She left it in a make up bag she rarely use then forget about it. When i borrow that pouch for my holiday trip, i was surprise, this palette is so cute! With reflected pretty pink case, and so travel friendly! I bought this palette and fall in love in a sec.

oh ya, this palette is not in the perfect condition because it's not a new one, and it's been (almost) 2 years since it's been purchased.

The manufacturing date is august 2nd 2010, but i belive it's still in production.

Price is ranging from idr 50,000 to 70,000 (depend on where you buy & the promotion)

I think it's came with 2 brushes : a sponge tip and an eye shadow brush, but the tip isn't there anymore, so my Mom might lost it somewhere.

Pink and Silver made Caring Color's palette so beautiful. There's mirror and brushes, and 3 eye shadow's shade. This palette named "Pink Wave" for reason, the shades is ranging from dusty rose to white pearl. They're so easy to combine. For me, it's more complete if there's a dark brown color for my crease tip. Oh well, i can get it from different palette.

My palette might be old, but the texture is still so good. It's pigmented, creamy, easy to blend, a lil bit powdery but no fall out and i got no irritation. So it's fine! ^^

(please don't try this for cream/liquid type of product)

shades :

Dusty Rose - i LOVE it, it's my new naked shade. It has satin finish.

Pearly Soft Pink - a soft pink shades i use to blend dusty rose shade.

Pearly White - a highlight color.

I like it more than Sariayu's eye shadow, it's less powdery even if it's less pigmented. It's worth trying if you love dusty rose shade (you can find 2 other shades in many other palette from many brand) because it's unique and hard to find. And it's better packaged too ;)

An Indonesian Beauty Items : Sariayu Colors of Asia in Petikan Sitar

Happy Belated New Yeaaar!!

it's been so late, but i've not write anything for about 2 weeks or so.. i've passed Christmas and New Year, and even first week of january.. crazy huh?

So my first post in 2013 is not about favorite items nor beauty wishlist. I'd continue to post about beauty review, hehe ..

As indonesian, i rarely blog about indonesian beauty product, that's why i decided to begin 2013's blogging life with a review about Sariayu eye shadow palette "Colors of Asia" in "Petikan Sitar". Sariayu cosmetics are easy to find in Indonesia, they're not so expensive (about idr 30,000 for 7.5g eye shadow in 3 different shades) and have a good quality. Sariayu also said that it's came without animal testing. Vegan rocks!

Sariayu Petikan Sitar is in handy-size, but sadly it's quite fragile. You can see a crack above the Chopper shade.

Somehow, it's packaging remind me to Wet n Wild Trio Eye Shadow in Silent Treatment (my review here). But that's one is still save.. no crack at all.

The best things about clear packaging is you can see how pretty is the things inside. For that reason, i appreciate Sariayu for make a very pretty emboss for their eye shadow =]

Sariayu claimed that "Petikan Sitar" contains of anti oxidant and UV protection to protect our skin from adverse effects of environment and UV radiation, also enriched with Vitamin E to moisten skin and make the colors long lasting.

I don't really know about the ingredients for anti oxidant and Vitamin E purpose, but it does contains of Titanium dioxide for UV protection. Also metylparaben and silica, in case you avoid any of it. Sariayu also write a caution to stop using their product if there's irritation/allergy reaction occur during use.

For travelling reason, there's mirror and dual sided brush inside. The mirror is too small in my opinion. I have small eyes but those small mirror can't fit my preferation.. And i will only use that brush in emergency situation. They're just not my favorite (but i've use it for swatch).

In picture above, i use NO primer. And it's only ONE swipe.

It's really rich in pigmentation, and good lasting power too. It could stay about 8 hours without primer. The only minus point is it's so powdery. I swipe it sooo gently, but there's some powder fly from the pan. For the price i paid (which is only idr 10,000/shade of usd 1/shade) is not really a problem. Those three shades can be use together for pretty result.

I love this product, if i dont have too many eye shadows for my entire life, i might get more palette from Sariayu, especially Kelimutu palette who has a very pretty blue shade. Worth to buy!

Simple Way to Get Your Silent Treatment

I can't believe it's December already! And New Year will coming very soon OMG ..

Don't you need a little silent treatment to prepare for new year?

Wet n Wild (WnW) well know for their eye shadow palettes (even i found their blush, Mellow Wine is outstanding either - review here) and luckily, WnW has sent this Silent Treatment for me to review about it.

As another WnW's product, this palette just came alone without box, and has a clear closure which allow you to see what's inside easily. However, as i said before, i dont think i'd still love it when i hit one or more shade's pan. Disgusting >.<"

Silent Treatment has a neutral shades, a lil bit leans to cool side but it works okay for me. 

Since WnW named their shades by where they mean to be on your eyes, they give an explanation behind, just in case you're not sure which one is browbone, crease and eyelid (i found some girls asking in beauty thread where crease is). No offense yaaaa ;)

WnW provided 2 brushes : one angled brush and one sponge brush. I dont like sponge brush, but will use it in extra ordinary situation ^^

both are embossed with WnW's logo, like brush in their blush.

I swatch those colours using the angled brush, and that's their condition .. powdery, yes. But just acceptable compared to it's price (idr 89,000!). It's quite more expensive than our Sariayu or Caring Colours, but still affordable.

Silent Treatment's shades are so pigmented, therefore, primer doesn't make much change. But primer helps to make those shimmers subtle down and make them last longer :)

Browbone is like another browbone color ; not so pale white, and it's added with silver and gold shimmer.

Crease is neutral cool brown with shimmer. It's too dark to be my crease color thought. I use it as Eyelid color.

Eyelid is lilac-taupe with silvery shimmer. For me it's the prettiest shade, stunning!

But, as i am prefer to have less shimmer on my eyes, i always tap my brush before applying the powder. If you love shimmer shades, it's doesn't needed ;)
