Bali Spa Collection : Lavender Body Scrub

Today is august 16th and tomorrow is Indonesian Independence Day ヽ(∀゜ )人( ゜∀)ノ
So i decided to write a review about Indonesian Product. This is one of my newest items, i've stated it in my post about July & August Local Haul.

If you're going to any department store or market or souvenir store in Bali, you'll find some traditional based beauty product from several local brand. There's soap bar, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, body butter, body scrub, foot lotion, foot scrub, aromatherapy, breast cream, mask, and so on. Most of them has unique fruit or spice fragrance, if you like it, you might want to grab some.

I don't like these fragrance, they're turn weird after several minutes in my opinion. Especially for product which will stay in your skin for several hours like body lotion & body  butter. But body scrub is different story. I will only use it for like 5 minutes and cover the smell with my regular soap. Tee-hee!

Bali Spa Collection isn't balinese local brand, it's produced by Indonesian Local Brand named PT Martina Berto or it's usually known as Martha Tilaar. It's also has different consistency with another balinese body scrub i used, but i like it!

I choose Lavender since it has a very attracting packaging and good smell (in my opinion).
It's quite cheap though, it's only about idr 9.000 for 200 ml (7.5oz) product.
It's also available in Olive, Bengkoang (Pachyrhizus erosus), Jasmine, and Coconut. For more info, you can read from their website

it comes in plastic jar, quite big compared to balinese body scrub (it's Lulur in bahasa), which mostly comes in only 100ml size.

here's their explanation about product. They're so nice for using 2 languages there so some foreign from outside country can read it ~( ̄▽ ̄)ノ

and here's i write the ingredients for you (because i forgot to take picture of it, hahahaha) :
water, stearic acid, polyethylene, caprylic/capric triglyceride, cetyl alcohol, glycerin, sodium lactate, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil, tocopheryl acetate, celullose gum, potassium hydroxide, glycol distearate, sodium laureth sulfate, cocamide MEA, laureth-10, carbomer, panthenol, pentaerythrityl tetra-di-t-butyl hydroxyhydrocinnamate, chlorphenesin, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylsothiazolinone, fragrance, CI 17200, CI 42051.

my first impression :
sniff! it has floral scent but i'm not sure it's lavender scent
it's very ruinny! where's the scrub??
yeah it's purple! *LOL

if you zoom this picture in, you can see a small bubble, clear one, more like salt thing. Yeah it's the scrub.

see?
it has a very ruinny consistency and seems white on my hand.

rub! rub! rub!

cleaned!! (☆▽☆)
it doesn't even drying my skin, and there's no weird fragrance after use (ノ´∀`*)ノ.

Overall, i like it for the price, and for nice result. But i love my Mustika Ratu's Coffee body scrub more. I will repurchase it once it's empty, but maybe not for long time.

Thanks for reading and Happy Independence Day!

Indonesian & Japanese Rohto Mentholatum Acnes UV Tint ; Review, Swatch & Comparison

Well, another review of my favorite product!

i love indonesian version of Mentholatum Acnes. It's has good coverage, good SPF level, affordable price (35.000 idr-40.000 idr for 30ml product) and the best thing is it's tinted! It's only came in 1 shade, but it's match my skintone well.

I was lil bit curious about Japanese version Mentholatum Acnes. The only difference i used to saw is higher SPF (SPF 50+ PA++ while indonesian only has SPF 30 PA++). But still, i want to get it (*´▽`*)

Lucky me, last january my cousin went to Japan and he's nice enough to bought some sunscreen for me ♡ .. so here i am, compare them for you ^^

Left : Mentholatum Acnes SPF 30 PA++ (indonesian)
Right : Mentholatum Acnes SPF 50+ PA++ (japanese)
Indonesian version using 2 languages in it's packaging, English & Indonesian. Japanese version mostly use Japanese.

Left : Mentholatum Acnes SPF 30 PA++ (indonesian)
Right : Mentholatum Acnes SPF 50+ PA++ (japanese)

you can read indonesian version's ingredients, but it's really hard to read japanese version's ingredients.

Left : Mentholatum Acnes SPF 30 PA++ (indonesian)
Right : Mentholatum Acnes SPF 50+ PA++ (japanese)
First difference!
Indonesian version has SPF 30 PA ++, Japanese version has SPF 50+ PA++
I know, it's not a big difference in protection (many people believe there's only 1% difference in protection between SPF 30 & SPF 50) but for staying power, it's counted.

Left : Mentholatum Acnes SPF 30 PA++ (indonesian)
Right : Mentholatum Acnes SPF 50+ PA++ (japanese)
They look almost the same!
both contains of 30ml product

Left : Mentholatum Acnes SPF 30 PA++ (indonesian)
Right : Mentholatum Acnes SPF 50+ PA++ (japanese)
Yeah, but indonesian version is a little bit taller!

Left : Mentholatum Acnes SPF 30 PA++ (indonesian)
Right : Mentholatum Acnes SPF 50+ PA++ (japanese)
..and indonesian version is a little bit grease.

Right : Mentholatum Acnes SPF 50+ PA++ (japanese)
Still, japanese version is un-read-able for me. So we skip ingredients difference!

Indonesian version doesnt contains of paraben nor mineral oil. But if you avoid silicone, this one is not for you. There's dimethicone in the list.
i dont know japanese version, but i think it's also contains silicone (i found it quite hard to remove, just a slight easier than indonesian version) so if you avoid silicone, it's better not to try this one either.

Left : Mentholatum Acnes SPF 30 PA++ (indonesian)
Right : Mentholatum Acnes SPF 50+ PA++ (japanese)
both has the same pointed hole, i found it really helpful  (⌒▽⌒)

 Swatch ~ Swatch !

.. this one was taken using indoor lamp ..

.. and this one was taken outdoor ..

yes, they has some difference :
  1. Japanese version seems more yellow-y than indonesian version. I found japanese version fit me better, indonesian version makes me looks like i'm wearing a mask :( .. i wish it's a sign that i'm really look like japanese *LOL
  2. Japanese version is slightly runnier, indonesian version is quite thicker
  3. Japanese version is more consistent in texture. It's seems & feels almost the same anytime i use it. Indonesian version doesn't. Sometimes i found it drop only the oil part (both need some shake before use), sometimes it's very thick, sometimes it's not. As in picture, Indonesian version has a very thick point in top (i drop it directly from the bottle) while japanese version doesn't.
  4. Japanese version is somehow more expensive than indonesian version. I bought Indonesian version for idr 35.000 - 40.000, but in some indonesian online shop, japanese version cost idr 140.000 - 150.000. I'm not sure about it's price in Japan, but i think it's still more expensive than Indonesian version.
  5. Even Japanese version contains higher SPF than Indonesian version, it doesn't give me white cast look, while indonesian version does.
and what are same about them?
  1. Very good coverage, you can use it alone without foundation or use it as tinted primer. But their coverage aren't buildable.
  2. i love the oil control!!
  3. it's quite hard to clean them up. Cleansing foam is not enough, I'm using cleansing oil to remove it.
  4. both contains silicone
  5. doesn't break me out
  6. doesn't let me going more dull nor darker (both works!)
  7. both are easy to absorb & easy to blend
  8. has acne prevention, really helpful!

Summary

i would really love to have japanese version than indonesian version, but if it's possible, in indonesian version's price (*/∇\*)

My rating* for japanese version : 4/5 (i drop 1 point for high price)
and for indonesian version : 3/5 (i drop 1 point for consistency and 1 point for white cast)

*my rating system might doesn't acceptable by you, i wrote it only to show you which one i love more, but it doesn't mean i don't like the other one. I just found one of them is suit me better.

July's Haul & August's Local Haul (ノ´∀`*)ノ

i know i rarely post about my haul, but truthfully, i always buy some new beauty item every month. Yes, every month. Sometimes i bought items dont really need, but yeah, i'm   addicted ≧△≦

here's my July haul, i know it's been too late, i was forgot to post it, but there it is!

they're :
  • Mustika Ratu Body Scrub in Coffee, my best body scrub ever! love the smell & textures
  • Mustika Ratu Body Butter in Rose, it doesnt contains paraben, has low sun protection, very moisturizing and smells nice
  • Hot Pink Case ☆V☆, it's only 25.000 idr! so cute!
  • MUAC 25% Mandelic Acid sample size, my first MUAC! ^^
  • Ecotools Retractable Kabuki Brush, i dreamed about it and now it got it
  • Tarte Clean Slate Primer, i bought it during tarte 30% sale, together with the blush
  • Etude Brush Shower Cleaner, it works very great to clean foundation brush, love it!
  • Etude AC Clinic Spot Gel Emulsion, me likey! will review it later :D
  • Too Faced Summer Time Sexy Eye Shadow Palette, read my review about it here. I've even brought it to Jakarta on my latest trip.
  • Tarte 12 hours Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed, a beautiful blush shade, will review it later.
  • Nyx Pencil Sharpener, oh well, i need it so bad. It works well for my urban decay 24/7 glide on eye pencil.
  • The Body Shop Rainforest in Moisture gift set, i bought it during Body Shop's renovation sale, it's 20% off. I also got My first Body Shop's Member Card that time :)
  • 3 pieces sample size BB Cream : Skin 79 Hot Pink BB Cream, Skin 79 Gold BB Cream, Etude Moisture Collagen BB Cream. It's free from my korean product purchase ^^
  • Elf Treat & Tame in Dark. I dont use it yet, i've just shaped my eyebrow few days ago. Hahaha .. I dont even know how to use it T_____T

i rarely count my local beauty haul as a "haul", because it easy to get (there's no gap between date i ordered and date i got it), mostly in cheap area and the most important reason is : i rarely bought some beauty product at same time. Maybe i bought a shampoo on monday, a sunscreen on wednesday and a body lotion on saturday. In the same week, but i might wouldn't see them together *LOL

Well, i bought these together on August 3rd. Here they're :

  • Mentholatum Acnes UV tint SPF 30 PA++, i bought it in reviewing purpose. I really love it but i do have lots of sunscreen .. LOL
  • Dove Nourishing Oil Care Conditioner, it's the new one. It has conditioning part & treatment part in different colour, but it's almost impossible to use it separately.
  • Bali Spa Body Scrub in Lavender. I ran out my Coffee body scrub (i finished 1 jar of body scrub in a month!) and i start to lookin' on cheaper alternative. This one cost 1/3 than the coffee one.
  • Makarizo Texture Experience in Green Tea Butter. I love green tea! and i love how makarizo texture experience works on me

3 of them are made in Indonesia :

Have you try them?
What do you think about it?
