Sleek Blush By 3 Pumpkin : Review & Swatch

Hi Ladies!

Have you got Sleek's newest palette?
It's not about eyeshadow anymore, the newest one is a blush palette. Truthfully, i was a little bit disappointed about it, because i am waiting for an eyeshadow palette. Probably the one like Paraguaya (i am still didn't get it, so if you want to sell it, contact me! :p) or something like Oh So Special, which i adore much. But thanks to Sleek, this blush palette is also super great,

The first time i saw Blush By 3 Pumpkin, i was feel so scary to see the color, they're all seems too pigmented, and i'm not very good in blending. But after thinking about another option (Sugar, Lace, Pink Sprint and Flame), i thought Pumpkin is good option. It's the only one with 3 different color. And i still doesn't have a coral blush. So this is a good choice.

Product
price : usd 15.99 for 20g (about 6.5g each blush)
description :
Blush by 3 is a trio shade blush palette that takes you effortlessly from day to night!  Each palette has 3 ultra pigmented shades to choose from in matte and shimmer shades. Use the matte shades for a subtle day time flush, and add the shimmery shade over the top for a touch of night time glamour! With 5 different shaded palettes to choose from , your only dilemma is which one to pick! Choose from Pink Sprint, Pumpkin, Lace, Flame, or Sugar.

Pumpkin contains of 3 shades : Lantern, Squash and P Pie

i took this picture under the sunlight, and i'm forgot to take another picture in indoor light :(

Sleek blush palette is a little bit smaller than their eye shadow palette, and it doesn't come with any brush but it got a big mirror which i heart so much. They don't have any disturbing scent, for me it's almost unscented, a good news if you dont like a scented make up.

Swatchadamia

it seems scary in pan, even in swatch they're a little bit horrifying. But if you blend them well, they turn into a lovely color, especially lantern. However, you always have to take them lightly because they're ultra pigmented (like Sleek said), unless you want to look like a clown .. Hee-Hee ..

Lantern is a red-orange color with a slight shimmer in outdoor light, but looks matte in indoor light swatch.
Squash is a warm toned bright pink, also with a little bit shimmer shown in outdoor, but not in indoor light.
P Pie is a matte orange. No shimmer in both picture.

They're beautiful, right? Right?
I haven't use them for more than 4 hours, but in 4 hours, they're still look good on me. They're a little bit chalky, but easy to blend and no fallout at all.

a very good value for your 15.99 usd money (in indonesia, you can get it for 190-220k IDR),
my favorite is lantern, which one is yours? :)

Review Sunkiller Baby

Hi Readers!
It's been several months after i post my last sunscreen review .. But i've use Sunkiller Baby Sunscreen for 2 months or so, and love it. Too bad they discontinued this product, this is a very good sunscreen with a cute packaging. I love japanese sunscreen! Always being my favorite!

Product : Sunkiller Baby SPF 38 PA +++

It's really cute, pink packaging with a cute pink-yellow sun. I love it .. it also has a cone point to make sure it wouldn't going out too much.

How About Textures?

The texture is nice, not too ruiny, not too creamy. Just like another type of milk sunscreen. They also doesn't leave a white cast on my skin.
Another best thing is it's matte. Not a pale matte like Biore UV Perfect Face Milk did, it's still give you a healthy look but help to control oil in the same time. I am still using Skinfood's Buckwheat loose powder above it to make sure it will stay matte in long time.

Pros :
easy to travel with packaging
cute and nice packaging
matte finish
no white cast
soft formula because it's for babies (i'm not checking the ingredients, i can't read japanese)

Cons :
ingredients and explanation written in japanese
hard to find in Indonesia before they discontinued it
they discontinued it

thanks for reading :)

Something You Need to Know : Fatal Attraction of Cosmetics and Chemical

Hi Ladies,
maybe you've read this post in somewhere else, i myself find it in some other blogs, and i repost it for my readers because it's so important to check what's in your product (especially the one you use in daily routine). I found out many of skincare focus person are more concern about the ingredients in product they use, while the make up focus person are less care about it.

I love skincare, so much in love with them. I also love make up, but i've got what i have to take care from product's ingredient. And here it is, some important things you have to care.

I can't say anything about deodorant since i'm not using any deodorant after one of my friend (who get scholarship to NTU Singapore, studying about Chemical Engineering) said that deodorant, logically, might cause cancer. He don't know what's that about, but since deodorant prevent the skin from sweating, it's change something naturally happen, and logically, it might cause cancer. So i stopped using deodorant. And he's right, Aluminium which prevent your skin from sweating, could cause Alzheimer. Don't forget to read that as deodorant sales increasing, the breast cancer rates also increasing at the same time. Something related, huh?

So if you're using deodorant, especially in daily routine, please check if it's contains of aluminium and propylene glycol or not. If yes, throw it out! But for me, it's better to smell bad, but with less risk.

Second, about the lipstick thing. I know, i know, i know .. they're so pretty right?
But.. have you check what's in your lipstick before you buy it? Because 1 in 3 brands of red Lipstick tested by FDA contains more lead than the FDA's acceptable upper limit for candy. Too bad! and what's worst? Because you put lipstick on your lips (yeah) and it makes the harmful things easier to be inside your system.

Well, what is lead anyway?
Lead is a proven neurotoxin that can cause learning, language and behavioral problems such as lowered IQ, reduced school performance and increased aggression. Pregnant women and young children are particularly vulnerable to lead exposure, because lead easily crosses the placenta and enters the fetal brain where it can interfere with normal development,” according to Sean Palfrey, MD, a professor of pediatrics and public health at Boston University and the medical director of Boston's Lead Poisoning Prevention Program.
Lead builds up in the body over time and lead-containing lipstick applied several times a day, every day, can add up to significant exposure levels. The latest studies show there is no safe level of lead exposure,” according to Mark Mitchell, MD, MPH, policy advisor of the Connecticut Coalition for Environmental Justice and co-chair of the Environmental Health Task Force for the National Medical Association.

I was get a kind of heart attack since i read this, it's awful thinking of how ignorant those companies about the product safety. Come on, some of them are huge companies who should know about this!

You can read FDA's list about 400 shade of lipstick which known contains more lead in their ingredients than upper limit of candy here.

Third, sunscreen.
Ooh i wish i've finished my post-to-be about sunscreen.. It's coming up btw, i'll continue working on it.

Well, sunscreen supposed to protect you from UV, to get out the harmful things out of your skin. But too bad, some of them are contains Oxybenzone, which has a bad side to hormone distruption and cellular damage. Oxybenzone also known as : benzophenone-3, BP 3, Uvinul M40 and Escalol 567. If you find your sunscreen are containing one of this chemical, throw it out! It has a destructive effect to DNA whenever it's exposed to sunlight.. So check it now!

About the baby shampoo and other baby products. Let's start about finding out what quarternium-15 and 1,4 dioxane are.
Quaternium-15 releases formaldehyde into cosmetics products. Formaldehyde is classified as a known human carcinogen by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the International Agency for Research on Cancer.Formaldehyde and quaternium-15 are also potent allergens that can trigger rashes and other skin inflammation problems. The North American Contact Dermatitis Group considers quaternium-15 to be among the most clinically significant contact allergens in children.
Formaldehyde work as preservatives in a product, to kill bacterias. But when it also being a carcinogen, it's better to stop using it.

The most  dangerous part of 1,4 dioxane is very few, if any, cosmetics or personal care products list 1,4-dioxane as an ingredient, even though an analysis by Campaign for Safe Cosmetics co-founder the Environmental Working Group suggests that it may be found in 22 percent of the more than 25,000 products in the Skin Deepdatabase of cosmetics products. That's because 1,4-dioxane is a frequent contaminant of common cosmetics ingredients, but as a contaminant it is not listed among intentionally added ingredients.
Research shows that 1,4-dioxane readily penetrates the skin. 1,4-dioxane is considered a probable human carcinogen by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and listed as an animal carcinogen by the National Toxicology Program. It is included on California’s Proposition 65 list of chemicals known or suspected by the state to cause cancer or birth defects . The California Environmental Protection Agency also lists 1,4-dioxane as a suspected kidney toxicant, neurotoxicant and respiratory toxicant
It is highly unlikely that any one product containing 1,4-dioxane will cause harm on its own. However, repeated exposures from many different products add up. The same baby could be exposed to 1,4-dioxane from baby shampoo, bath bubbles and body wash in a single bath, as well as from other contaminated personal care products today, tomorrow and the next day. Repeated exposures to a single carcinogen, synergistic effects from exposures to multiple carcinogenic and mutagenic ingredients, and concerns about exposures at key points in development (such as pregnancy, infancy and puberty) are cause for concern even though little risk is evident from a single small exposure.

Well, since 1,4-dioxane can't be found in ingredient list, it's better to take care your baby(es) using less amount of product, and Mom, during feeding period. The babies doesn't have immune which adult does have. How could they do that to the babies? >3<"

The last things, i wouldn't say that US product are better than Europe's. Always check the ingredients before using a product. If you could, reduce of using product that contains paraben, because even there's no certified result said that parabens are dangerous, we don't know what they'll find next.

i can't write this post without some source, which are :
http://safecosmetics.org
http://cosmetologyschool.org
http://skinacea.com
http://www.washingtonpost.com

ps. i'm so sorry for putting too many "!" in this post. I can get control of my self, thinking of the companies and the user are both (mostly) won't care about the dangerous things in product :(

thanks for reading anyway :)

the natural, lovely and vintage Roller Girl!

Hi Readers! Happy Easter!!

I love palette so much, much more than any other make up things, and this is the one from Urban Decay, the famous brand in palette land.

Roller Girl palette is not a new one, UD already put it in Sale section for only $13! it's really a good time to get it before they gone! I lost my chance to get Feminine palette while i'm waiting it to be cheaper again. They're all gone.. T^T

For $13 product, you get sooo much value : 4 eye shadows, 1 glide on pencil and 1 lip junkie lip gloss. UD usually sell their eye shadows for $18, glide on pencil for $ .. and lip glosses for $19. Awesome, right?

the size
  • Roller Girl Palette5.5 cm x 13 cm x 1,7 cm
  • Eye Shadow(s) : 2 cm x 2 cm, @1g
  • Lip Junkie : 3.6 ml
  • 24/7 Glide on Pencil : 11 cm (with cap), 9.5 cm (without cap), 0.8 g

this is my favorit picture. The lip junkie looks sooo beautiful ..

this is a beautiful bright pink shade, with a cool sensation in lip .. you're gonna love this, seriously :)

Shade definition :
  • woodstock : hot pink eye shadow with subtle fuschia shimmer, but it's not as bright as in pan. In eye, it's beautiful and lovely. If you afraid of this color, you can use a matte taupe eye shadow below.
  • verve : pale champagne with subtle shimmer, good for inner corner and highlight.
  • suspect : golden brown eyeshadow with subtle shimmer, i like to use it as a crease color.
  • darkhorse : dark brown eye shadow with subtle shimmer, good for lid and outer crease.
the texture is so soft, pigmented, and super blendable. I also love the glide on pencil, so soft, pigmented and with primer, it doesn't smudge easily.

Overall

I was bought it only for looking for what people raved about Urban Decay's palette, and now i got it. They're so worth the price (especially during sale, which they do oftenly), and help the beginners like me look good in small effort.

Thanks for Reading ^^
