Skinfood Aloe Sun BB Cream, review & swatch

I can't believe, i haven't write any single post about BB Cream yet (errr so many things i haven't review yet) since bb cream is my daily basic. This one is my second bb cream, the first one is from Missha. It's too old already and i've thrown it away for long time.

Now, bb cream is so popular, there's many brand have "bb cream" on their product list. But about 3 years ago, when i start using bb cream, (as far as i know) there's only Korean Brand who has it. I am not happy with my Missha BB Cream (i dont remember the varian name), lack of oil control, white cast and cakey. So when i decided to get another one, i do check many many reviews. This one got the rave, and i think it deserve.

Skinfood is one of popular Korean Brand. As long as i know, Skinfood is the 2nd korean brand who open their store in Indonesia. But i haven't get any product from their counter, i stuck on online shop who offer cheaper price.

All of Skinfood's product has one key ingredient which come from mother-earth. Sadly, i can't check the ingredients since it's written in Korean ≧△≦

This one is using Aloe as key ingredient. I don't remember where i read this information, but i read that Aloe has a natural sun protection while it's also good to heal sunburn. So here i'm understand why Skinfood named their product as "Aloe Sun BB Cream". But i don't think SPF 20 enough for my daily basis. However, it's better to use sunscreen and bb cream/foundation/tinted moisturizer separately to get better sun protection.

Aloe Sun BB Cream contains 50g of product, which a lot since a drop goes long way. I bought it last year (september 2011) and i think there's still about 30% product here ..

Skinfood, mostly,  only has 2 shade for their bb cream and concealer. I can use both of them since my skintone is neutral to warm.

i don't remember which one has yellow/pink undertone, but i think mine has slight pink undertone.

Unlike foundation, BB Cream also fitured with one or more advantage(s) to make it more sttractive; Whitening/brightening, anti-aging, acne care, healing, hydrating, and so on. This one fitured with UV protector and blemish corrector. I think blemish corrector can be identify as "good coverage" to cover blemishes, not on healing side.

it has a slight nice scent, i wouldn' associate as Aloe's scent. But it's doesn't bothering me even if somehow this scent stay a lil bit longer.

BB cream's shade mostly changed after a while (oxydized?) so it can match many skintone better. But i think there's some skintone who can't match with korean bb cream. 

it's a spot on my arm, i use it to show you about bb cream's coverage.

here i applied a tiny dot of skinfood aloe, so messy.

and then i blend-blend-blend it, until it looks like this.

In my opinion, Skinfood Aloe bb cream has medium to full coverage, it's buildable through it would be cakey if used heavily. In oil control side, it's nice, not best one for my very oily skin in hot days but will be better in cold weather or for night use.

I like this bb cream for the price, size, coverage and the way it match my skintone, but sadly it makes me breakout if i wear it more than 5 hours or so. Skinfood's Good Afternoon bb cream series is doing the same. Whats wrong with Skinfood's?

The UV protector is not good enough, as i said, it's better to use sunscreen and bb cream separately to get better sun protection (i know, i repeating the same sentence but i feel like i have to write it again to makes my reason more clear)

Another bad things, it's makes all of my blush on oxydized. I've tried it with Tarte, Benefit, Sleek, Etude and Nyx. No single one survive. Oh well.

I wouldn't repurchase it since i do have too many bb cream and foundation, and my wishlist is still going longer and longer.

Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum, a Short Review.

Whenever you buy korean product, in brick-and-mortar store or from online store, you will get some sample. Personally, i prefer to move my product into a jar rather than to keep it in their own plastic during use, because it's soooo messy to use product from sample packaging if you're not keep it in right place （￣へ￣")

for blogging purpose, i chose my innisfree green tea seed serum in sample size. This is a very unique sample, i love the packaging! it looks like an ampoule in my opinion (ﾉ´∀｀*)ﾉ.

they're also provide it with product explanation in back-side, but since it's all in Korean, i can't read anything.

and these are my equipment to move product into a jar :

alcohol

tiny jar (it's 5ml size jar)

a cotton ball

product sample

first, drop some alcohol into a cotton ball and swipe all over jar with it. Dont forget to swipe it into the closure too.

Some people doesn't like cleaning up jar using alcohol method because it might change product's consistency, but i think it's good way because alcohol will kill bacteria & swipe dirt.

innisfree green tea seed serum has a very liquid texture. It's absorb easily, and feels so light like i dont use anything on my face.

but there's no green tea smell i could detect, but it's still a nice smell.

These sample last me 3 times usage. It's doesn't cause me breakout, it gaves me dewy look which is turn into greasy in 2-3 hours, but didn't give me any other effect. It's not very moisturizing but feels light weight at the same time. Maybe 3 times usage doesnt enough to show me the amazing effect it might give :P

i used to think that i have to get this in full size, but after re-thinking, i decided not to get it. I'd rather to try argan oil or another that cheaper option which promise me moisturizer and dewy look with cheaper prize. But if you have more budget to go, it would be a good product to try :)

Skinfood Tomato Spot Serum

Do you like Tomato?

Truthfully, I'm not. I dont like the texture (too watery for me), fruit (ewww), and the taste. I never eat tomato except it's in sandwich or as tomato sauce *lol

but after i bought this serum, my skin consume tomato everyday!

There are some benefit of consuming tomato(es) :

1. help in cases of high cholesterol
2. anti oxidant
3. work as cancer prevention
4. cooling, whitening and firming properties for skin
5. reviving dull, tired skin and acne treatment

So, we can see why tomato serum could help in acne scars >> tomatoes has whitening properties for skin and also acne treatment, great!!

Mine is Skinfood Tomato Spot Serum and i get it for about IDR 140,000 (or around USD 15) from online shop. 

I dont really like the packaging, because once you push the tube, it would never back as the first time you get it. It will stay pushed :(

They doesn't provide the ingredients on packaging of product that i got. And i've search for it in google but can't find anything.

Tomato Spot Serum has a tiny hole, to keep you get right amount of product.

See? the texture is quite runny, not creamy. It has a fresh scent, i dont know what but it's not tomato's.

This serum is hard to absorb. I've found that my Tea Tree Emulsion absorbed easier more than this. But it's okay .. I only use it at night so i have a lot of time to wait.

It's good, doesnt cause me break out but doesnt really help without some other product i consumed (work a lot way better when i consuming Meiji Collagen also).

Repurchase : still dont know.

One lovely product that i always use every week is Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask. I've finished my first tube, and when i want to open the second one, i was thought, this is the right time to take picture of it .. *lol.


Have you tried it? It's my favorite clay mask. This time, I have 2 clay mask : baviphat strawberry (de)toxifying mask and innisfree jeju volcanic pore clay mask. Yes, i'm such a mask lover!


Like another Innisfree product, Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask got 7-Free formulation: NO artificial perfumes, NO artificial pigments, NO paraben, NO benzophenone, NO ethanol, NO animal base materials, NO mineral oils.

Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask are contains of Volcanic Ashes from Jeju Island in Korea, and enriched by Scoria and Green Complex. Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask is recommended if you : concerned about your pores, blackheads and sebum, and also think that your make up are getting cakey and your skin is uneven and dull. Me and some friends has just found out that is mask also work well in drying acne. This is a must have things, so many function and so easy to use! It's also good for oily, normal and dry skin type because it doesn't tightening your skin so much, you'll enjoy it everytime you use it.


Innisfree also said that Volcanic Cluster is the only week base (whatever that is) resources which is similar to human's blood. This volcanic cluster can only be found in Jeju Island, Korea. It's a pure ingredients that contains no (almost no, i think) impurities. 


Another things i loved from Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask is their packaging. Sooo simple, cute, easy to use and the best is soo natural. They use recycled paper for the box, tamra (jeju) paper for labelling and recyclable & low  carbon generating light-weightened containers. Yes, it's soo light weightened!

Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask also has a plastic separator. Nice and help you to keep product from getting too much air.

I know it's so not important because it's a mask where color doesn't meant anything but, this is the product, the consistency and texture.

In my opinion, the texture is a quite creamy for a clay mask, makes it easy to spread (i'm not complaining). My nose almost undetect any smell from it, you'll only able to smell it if you put your nose directly in front of the jar. You can't smell anything while it's on your face.

It's won't drying your face except you leave small amount of product in open air and use it. Since it doesn't drying your face, it wouldn't crack like another clay mask, you can easily speak while wearing this, and it means even you have dry skin, you can still use it! So nice!

How-To-Use :

1.  Wash your face using cleansing foam
2. Use toner all over your face for better result
3. Gently spread the clay mask over entire face (avoiding eyes & mouth) especially paying attention to blemished areas
4. Wash off with warm water after 20-30 minutes, it wont tighten your face as i said above, so put attention with the time

Use it 1-2 times a week, could be use in blemished area only all over the night (don't use any other skincare, except toner, between your blemish and the clay mask.


Conclusion

i wouldn't say that this is an amazing clay mask that will always work everytime and for everytime. I'm failed about 20% from my total usage, sometimes it won't take my blackhead, sometimes it won't dry my acnes. And for my sister's face (who's rarely using skincare, any skincare, you name it) it won't work at 2 first time until it's done it's job.

But, it's so much better than another clay mask i have : it's able to clean my blackhead, help me to drying my acnes, reducing some of my redness, quite moisturizing and makes my face look brighter. Really-really clean my blackhead without any pain. What a life (☆▽☆)

Overall, i love it and will definately repurchase! ^^

p.s :  even if it's works on me and some of people around me, maybe it wont work for you. Another people trash could be your treasure but another people's treasure could be your trash.

the relationship between Sleeping Mask, Raspberry and The Face Shop

have you hear about Sleeping Mask or Sleeping Pack?

If you're a fan of Korean skincare product, my might had heard this.

As their name, Sleeping Mask (or pack) is a mask you leave on your face as a finishing step of night skincare routine. Some say you only able to use Sleeping Mask (or pack) 2-3 times a week, because it's like another mask, take a part of your skin -usually the dead skin cell, makes your face looks brighter in the morning. And if you use it too often, they will take too much part of your skin (first, dead skin cell but second and after maybe living skin cell) and makes your face more sensitive. But i've use my sleeping mask (or pack) everyday, and i'm fine.

One of my Korean friend said that she's already ask Baviphat's sales asistant in Korea about this sleeping pack. And the SA said that Sleeping Mask is more like Night Cream, you can use it everyday. She use it everyday for like 2 years and fine too.

The packaging is like hair product but effective and cute (again). Wondering if my baviphat(s) are like this, i dont even need a spoon to get the product out! And the rest left as safe as can be inside the bottle.

Insider product are in gel texture, soft pink color and surprisingly smell like minty raspberry. And when applied, it also feel minty, so refreshing. You need at least 10 minutes before it well absorbed.

This product is also different with The Face Shop Raspberry Roots Sleeping Mask which is one of their best seller product. This is how it looks like :

The new collection came with better packaging, but sadly, still no effect on slimming but yes to hydrating skin. The old version doesnt write anything in their title like new version did, but they also promising contouring face while sleeping.
