MAC Archie Collections : Cream Soda Blush, Review & Swatch.

Hi, it's me again! ^^

I know it's not good to write about discontinued product, the one you hardly get. But it's MAC. You know, MAC tend to repromoting their popular (or sometimes not so popular product), because they have soooo many collection every year. And this one might back somewhere in future.

I was pessimistic seeing Cream Soda blush in real life (i bought it online). It's looks like pressed powder omg! For the name of blush, it's as beige as my own powder! Gasp!

I walk through blogosphere, seeing how people loving cream soda blush.. and i decided to try it. I know it's kinda impossible for super-pigmented-blush lover like me, but i love it. Scroll and see how it looks like .. even you might have see it somewhere else.

Because it's MAC limited edition product (from Archie Girls Collection, spring 2013), it has limited edition packaging.
Cream Soda blush is from Betty side collection, so it has betty's old face in the front cover. Like regular MAC blush, it has clear font so it's easy to see the product inside.

Oh, forgot to tell you. MAC Archie Girls is my very first MAC product. This collection really caught my heart. I own 2 lipstick, 1 blush and 1 pearlmatte face powder. I will review every items, in case they'll come back in future.

The back side looks so professional (in my opinion, heee heee). It's white with black sticker. So lovely.

Too bad i forgot to picture the outside box. Will update my post.

The product inside.. See what i mean with powder-like?

Cream Soda is light neutral coral with satin finish.
I bet you don't believe how different the swatch with how it shown in pan. Me either!

After read another review about mac blushes, i noticed some other blushes are the same. My conclusion is it's because the product packed with lots of pigment that doesn't show in pan. It's very pigmented and buildable. The heavy swatch above swiped with 4-5 layers. And i always build the intensity with 3-4 layers every usage.
I think if i would ever finish a blush, cream soda will be the one.

It's so interesting that christine from temptalia.com said that the peachy tone in cream soda should help to neutralize redness on cheeks. I have a lot of redness, and so happy with that fact. However, Cream Soda seems a lot way pinker on me than on her.

But since Cream Soda is very soft, it's really hard to caught in picture. Whenever i pictured with Cream Soda, i only get a lil bit healthier cheeks. No color at all.

If you still doesn't get the idea about how Cream Soda looks like, here's my comparison picture :

If you're a fan of MAC Flatter Me pearlmatte face powder (also from Archie Girls Collection, Betty side) of benefit Sugarbomb, and looking for a tad more pigmented blush, then you would love  MAC Cream Soda.

Benefit Sugarbomb is peachier, more shimmery. MAC flatter me is less pink and a tad more shimmery but it's a good subsitute for Cream Soda.

What do you think about sheer blush? Love them? Hate them? or in between? :)

I See The Pans..

Hitting pan is another experience of make up usage, right?

I mean.. all of us got another adrenaline rush when taking product, and surprisingly see that it somehow nearly reach it's end.

The compact one, Laura Mercier Compact Tinted Moisturizer, is in sample size. I was so sure i could finish this baby, but hitting it's pan is really something. I'm about to decide if i'd purchase the full size one, or buying the one in tube. I kinda like this one through i haven't write about it.

The one in pan, Benefit Hello Flawless custom cover up is basically a powder foundation. but as you can read in my review, i used it as a pressed powder.
Several days ago, i decided to use it as it's own function. I wet a sponge then use it with the custom cover up as powder foundation. I damp damp damp and almost screaming that i hit the pan! OW!

I know i'm still able to use both of them but ..
I think it would like my old benefit dandelion. After reaching it's pan, i lost my mood to use it again. Crazy eh?

Benefit Sugarlicious (Highbeam, Benetint, Sugarbomb Blush and Lipgloss)

I've been reviewed Benefit Feelin Dandy kit before, and now i'm going to review benefit Sugarlicious kit. If feelin dandy is about making a radiant pretty look, sugarlicious is about making a fresh, natural looking glow. Among the three (feeling dandy/dandelion kit, sugarlicious/sugarbomb kit and tropicoral/coralista kit), tropicoral is the most pigmented one while dandelion and sugarbomb would only appear in fair or medium fair skintone. I have coralista in my powderrazi palette, so i don't purchase tropicoral kit.

there it is.. the sugarlicious ^o^
It isn't the best one to be in your make up pouch (too big, too bulky) but it's a nice add for your make up vanity. I personally love how sugarlicious, feeling dandy and how to look best in everything kit being together on my table

The behing part contains information about anything inside.
High beam and benetint contains is in 4ml size, sugarbomb in 3g and ultra plush lip gloss in 6.5ml size.
Benefit has a lot of kit contains of deluxe sample size product, so be careful not to purchase the things you don't like twice (or thrice, or more).

Inside sugarlicious kit is basically the same with feelin dandy and tropicoral kit : a huge mirror, removable tray, product, and mini rough brush (i think it's natural haired brush, means it can pick up pigment better than the synthetic one).

Benetint and High Beam both are in glass bottle with nail polish like brush, like the full size product.

They're so small. Also for the mini brush, definately need more time and patient to work my face.

okay, going to swatch ☆ミ

from left to right : benetint, high beam, sugarbomb blush, sugarbomb ultra plush lip gloss heavily swatch and blended.

Sugarbomb blush is really sheer, in my opinion. I have to pick it with Hervana's brush everytime i need it.
Since i have a medium fair skintone (maybelline dream matte powder sandrevlon colorstay in sandsleek foundation also in sandbenefit oxygen wow foundation in champagne), it's never really show up on my skin. It's more like a flush, fresh, sugary look. But since it's not going to highlighter category because it doesn't have enough shimmer for it.

As for lip gloss, i have reviewed it together with benefit dandelion ultra plush lip gloss.
Here's how ultra plush lip gloss in sugarbomb shown on my lips :

It's not as shimmery as revlon lip butter in peach parfait, but this shimmer sometimes disturbing me. The formula is still my faves thought.

Next to benetint and highbeam's swatch :

  heavily swatched

blended swatch

High Beam is called as "supermodel in a bottle", and it does being a gooood liquid highlighter. I usually mix it with my foundation to add more glow. The trick is mixed them well on back of your hand, then dot some amount on cheeks, chin, forehead and neck. Blend it well ~( ̄▽ ̄)ノ

Benetint is being favorite of many woman around the world. Oh well, not me. I mean, i like it but it's would never be my favorite.
On my cheeks, it's really sheer.. And i hate blend it with finger (leaving my finger somehow red-ish). Sometimes, i'm very yellow toned.. maybe it's the reason why benetint is too sheer for me?
If you want to try benetint on cheeks, dont forget to blend blend blend blend right after you put it on, and make sure you do it in a jump! o(`ω´*)

As for lip tint, it's drying without lip balm, and doesn't hold a full course meal. It gives a pretty color though.

And i believe i've read somewhere that benetint contains of Quarternium-15, which is a preservative that could turn into formadelhyde. So i stopped wearing benetint on my lips.

And as benetint is soo runny, like red rose water in a nail polish packaging, it somehow uneasy to apply. Once it's dry, there's no more chance to blend. But on lips, it tooks so long to dry.. haha .. i wish benetint would come in better packaging, better texture, and no carcinogen ingredients, because for the price, it's quite a shame.

do you like sugarlicious kit?

Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal Eyeshadow #70 Barely Branded, Review & Swatch

I guess i'm being out of hype, talking about Maybeliine's Color Tattoo today. However, this is a permanent shade and haven't arrived yet in Indonesian Maybelline Counter (dunno it would be here or not) so i think it's okay ^_____^

what maybelline say about it :

WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT

Dare to shine 24/7.
  • Ink technology creates 24HR wear shadow for our most intense, long-lasting color saturation.
  • Cream formula glides on without creasing and keeps color vibrant.

FOR BEST RESULTS

Using fingertips, sweep all over eye from inner corner and work outwards. For added drama, darken as desired.

Barely Branded (#70) is a warm beige with metallic finish. Being in a natural, beige range, barely branded is easy to love, but in another view, it's pretty standard. You might have one in the same shade in powder form.

I rarely use BB alone, though i think it's simply can brighten your eyes when it's use lightly on your eyes. When it used with powder eye shadow, BB makes the eye shadow apply more vibrant, less creasing and last a lil bit longer. For the last purpose, eye primer will always work better.

*ugh* i'm so sorry for the double blog name in the pic, i think i mistaken it at second editing T___T

Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal Eyeshadow's bottom part is made from clear but heavy and thick plastic jar. You can definately see how the product inside looks like.

Here's the top part, made from thick black plastic. It doesn't have box, like the most drugstore product nowadays, only sealed with clear plastic.

It contains of 4g of product which is generous.

The jar is pretty small, but takes place in my make up bag. I wouldn't carry it in my daily basis.

There it swatch-ed using my ring finger, under the sun light.

And there i show you how maybelline barely branded makes the eye shadow color appear more vibrant. It's even almost solid in my opinion.

This is one of my very first cream eye shadow, and i'm kinda like it.
I also have another shade in my drawer and i like it too!

Have you tried cream eye shadow?

Fragrance Review : Issey Miyake L'eau D'Issey Florale

I am lately realized that i adoring Rose notes in fragrance. I don't really like rose as flower, but in notes, it's different story.

There's so many fragrance that took rose as their notes. Why do i chose issey miyake's? L'eau D'Issey Florale for me is soft, barely there fragrance, modern, feminine yet elegant. And surprisingly it last kinda long. Six hours for soft fragrance? Great.

the advertising image

Sorry for the crumpled background. I am lately notice it.
L'eau D'Issey florale comes in Issey Miyake's signature bottle.
Mine is in 10ml bottle, miniature in exactly same packaging as the full sized one.
I like the shape, the color (it's pink!) and it has spray.
I like to carry it in my daily bag.

Cap part is made from thin metal, adding sophisticated touch to the whole appearance.

The notes inside are simple. They're rose (absolutely), red mandarin, lily and woodsy notes. Not too complex, and they're well blended. You're hardly tell what notes taking part at the time, but still, rose are pretty easy to detect.

I would recommend L'eau D'Issey florale for daily use, when you're need an appropriate fragrance that stay long and makes you feel fresh, feminine and happy! :D
